I got the Linux system hung , so hard shutdown.. and after the restart got the below error???

Filesystem type is ext2fs, partition type 0x83

[Linux-bzimage, setup=0x1e00, size=0x15d6f9
Initrd /initrd-2.6.9.67.0.0.0.1.ELhugemem.img
[Linux-initrd @ 0x37f6b000, 0x84f16 bytes]
Uncompressing linux….Ok, booting the kernel.
Red Hat nash version 4.2.1.13 starting
Mkrootdev: lable / not found
Mount : error 2 mounting ext3
Mount : error 2 mounting none
Switchroot : mount failed : 22
Umount /initrd/dev failed: 2
Kernal panic – not syncing : attempted to kill!
can you please confirm the EXACT message, as there are clearly some typos there. You've written "LABLE", instead of "LABEL". Is that a translation error or is that actually what it says? there is also shoudl be a space between "LABEL=/" and "rhgb", is this a typo??
Actually, looking at the rest of the error, they do all look like errors on your post specfically, and it can't find the / label. I would boot to a live CD and check the integrity of the hard drive, "fdisk -l /dev/sda", and fsck all the filesystems listed there. Sounds to me like your root fs has failed somehow, unless you've manually changed that label somehow.
