Linux Bootable CD


I have downloaded Fedora linux on my machine. I converted the files od disc 1 to an iso image and tried to boot it from my machine. I was not successfule in doing it..

Am i doing the correct process to create a bootable CD for linux

When you download something like Fedora, you typically get a CD image--ie an *.iso file. Thus I don't understand what you mean by converting the files to an iso image.

What you need to do is generate a CD from the iso file. Depending on the CD writing SW, this is called "burn from iso" or something similar.
Dont just copy the iso file to the CD (a common mistake)
