Linux Boot problem !
Linux Boot problem !
I had windows 98 and Red Hat linux 7.2 on my hard disk. Whenever the system boots, I used to get the GRUB boot loader where I could select either DOS or linux. Because of problems in the windows partition, I had to format the windows partition and installed win XP. I dont get the GRUB loader now. The system automatically boots into WinXP. I had already created a linux boot disk but it is not working now. I do not know how to get into linux. I have Red HAT Linux 7.2 CDs. Please help. Shaahul |
Can't you go through a cd boot, and then do a RedHat upgrade installation? This should reinstall the boot loader at the end.

There have been a number of posts on this recently. Basically, you boot off your cd, type linux rescue and then reload grub.
