For what???
I mean for Linux programming, Linux Installation, Linux Server Configuration, Linux Kernal Compilation or what??

If its Linux programming and Arcitecture, I would recomend you,
"Advance Linux Programming"

This is the best i every read... Its name is Advance programming but its even good to start with..

Free--start with TLDP.org

Also, if you search on a specific topic, you will often find tutorials.

$$:
O'Reilly website---in particular, look at Safari

With free downloads, you will find a lot of in-depth stuff--manuals, tutorials, etc.....You may want to consider buying at least one book---eg "Linux in a Nutshell" (O'Reilly)

dsids 03-14-2006 06:01 AM

Thank you very much pixellany..ill be buying the book (Linux in a nutshell)

That's a great book for both learning, and reference. It has a lot of in-depth material for many different distros. In addition to this, as others have said, online tutorials can be found for individual applications and on broad concepts.

If you haven't checked out the tutorials section, you may want to start there:

And for hardware compatability, check here:
