Linux Backup to Samba share on Windows NTFS
Can any help me understand how to get around backing up a Linux box that is
larger than 2 Gb's to a Windows NTFS share using Samba. When I try to do a CPIO or Tar backup of a Linux server to disk instead of tape, the backup always fails when it reaches the 2 Gb size. I would like to do Linux server backups to a disk on a Windows worklstation. Any help is greatly appreciated. TIA! |
Linux backup to samba share
Hello,
The 2Gb is a filesize limitation. You can use the tar with -M (multi-volume) or try to backup directories in different tar files. Also other issues with samba and the 2gb limitation http://www.linuxquestions.org/questi...der=descending -- free_ouyo |
