Linux and blu ray reader compatible

i am somewhat new to Linux but i recently bought a fta box that runs
with Linux java and it also has a dvd writer in the unit. basically my
question is if this cpu has the balls to run blu ray is there a reader
that is compatible with Linux any distro that on might know of. i would what to take out the dvd writer and install the blu ray reader. thank you for any responses

Recent versions of dvd+rw-tools support BluRay writers, and readers are really no different from existing optical drives.

Playing back the content is another story though, as you need a fairly powerful machine to play back 1080p content at an acceptable framerate.
