I had heard somewhere that it's possible to make a transparent link from one partition to another one. For instance if my /dev/hda1 gets full I can make it spill over to /dev/hda5. Is that possible?
Not exactly, however, you could mount hda5 somewhere underneath hda1's root.
(see also the "bind" option in the manpage for mount)
A better alternative is to learn how to use LVM, and then be able to resize hda1 using a live cd like DFS. However, I daresay that would involve a complete reinstall
Thanks for the input guys. I think i'm just going to use one of the freeware repartition softwares out there and reset the size of my partitions. You all have any recommendations on what software I should use?
