Question Lilo

I have Windows and Linux (Debian-Knoppix) installed on one hard drive, (hda1 Windows, hda4 Linux). The system first boots in Linux and then in Windows. How can I change the sequence to first Windows and second Linux? Any help is appreciated.

Hi!
Do you mean the default OS chosen by lilo?
If so, check the "/etc/lilo.conf" file; you must have two entries, something like
Code:
              image=/boot/vmlinuz
                   label=linux
                   initrd=initramdisk.img
                   root=/dev/hda4
                   vga=ask
and
Code:
              other=/dev/hda1
                   label=Win98
                   boot-as=0x80
you may add, in the begining of the file a line like
Code:
default = name
where "name" is the "label" (in lilo.conf) of the the OS you prefer (for instance "default = Win98");
You also, can switch the two entries over, because lilo boots, as default, the first entry it sees.
Don't forget to do "/sbin/lilo" after the changes.
Hope it helps...
Regards
