I have two kind of unreleated Linux questions. First, what is the easiest way to find out which libc version a system has? Is it to look in the /lib directory and try to find libc.so.X with X being the version number? 2nd question....If I have two computers running NIS and sharing the common files NIS shares (passwd, group files, etc), as root can I control everything on the other computer from another computer? Let me give an example: Box 1 and Box 2. If I log on to Box 2 as root and set a diskquota for a user who uses box 1, will that change be reflected on box 1? Hope that makes sense.
