i got a dell laptop with a 15 inc screen the problem is i searched for lcd white screen problem on google and several other search engines but found nothing i found some forum s but no one got reply does any one know something about white screen problem on laptops and when x server starts my screen shows some stupid image like things then the x starts and works fine does this thing damage my screen when installing my monitor was not probed and when i asked dell about my vertical and horizantal refresh rate they did not understand and asked me that if i want to learn the dimensions of my screen.does this thing happen because of refresh rates?

you need to connect your monitor to another computer first, and see what happens, if same send it back, but make sure first that the resolution and refresh rate is set to monitor specs (probably XGA for 15')
