Larger Fonts?
Hi, this is my first (I'm sure of many more) post. I am new to Linux and was hoping someone could help me with a quick question.
I'm running ydl 5.0 on my Playstation 3, which is connected to a 54" HDTV that supports 420i, 420p, and 1080i resolution. I currently have it running on 1080i, but can't read any of the text, it is too small. I was wanting to know if there is somewhere I can go to adjust the font sizes. If anyone can help it would be much appreciated. |
what desktop environment?
usually, just look in the control center for "fonts". |
I know this probably sounds stupid, but where is the control center? Also, I'm not sure what you mean by desktop environment. Sorry, I just installed it last night and am clueless about this.

The "desktop environment" is the thing you are looking at right now (the task bar, the menu, the desktop background). Some popular examples are KDE and Gnome. If you see a lot of things beginning with the letter "K" like "Konqueror" then you probably have KDE. If you see a footprint, you probably have Gnome.
In Gnone, you should be able to find a menu labeled "System" Then look for a sub-menu labeled "Preferences". You should see something labeled "Fonts" (I don't use Gnome, so I could be wrong) In KDE, open the main menu and look for something labeled "Control Center" I think the font settings are in the "Appearance" sectino. |
