laptop vid card (ati radeon x300) trying to get hardware accelleratoin going.

hi,
i just installed fedora core 4 on my new dell latitude D610 with an ati radeon x300 mobility vid card.

getting harware video acceleration working has proven to be a troublesome undertaking as it usually is on laptops.

does anyone have any tips on how to get this working? (ive already tried the proprietary ati drivers, but all my efforts with it were unsuccessfull.(i dont think my card is supported on it anyways))

My xorg file looks like this
Code:

Section "ServerLayout"
	Identifier "single head configuration"
	Screen 0 "Screen0" 0 0
	InputDevice "Mouse0" "CorePointer"

# file minus the extension (like ".txt" or ".db"). There is normally
# no need to change the default.
# Multiple FontPath entries are allowed (they are concatenated together)
# By default, Red Hat 6.0 and later now use a font server independent of
# the X server to render fonts.
	RgbPath "/usr/X11R6/lib/X11/rgb"
