Unhappy Lag in my Quake3 network (Help)


Hello guys it my first message but here is the deal

I have 2 comps in a Lan
1 is a 1,7 Ghz with 512 mb
2 is a P3 750 Mhz with 512 mb

If i Host a game with the 1st cpu i have a bit of lag (i see the player double on my screen)
But on my slowest comp there is no lag.

I running the latest drivers from Nvidia on Mandrake 8.2 (both)
Please can any1 help me:

i'm not sure i can help but u sure can. where is the Q3 game available for download. also u sure have spent a lot on ur RAM, i think 256 MB should be sufficient unless it is a server.
