KUDZU quesiton

i'm trying to make a PCMCIA card to un on my laptop. the instructions posted in the internt requires me to run kudzu to igonre the new card. now when i run kudzu , it asks me to fill up the root password . i do that and i'm sure of the password cus i'm already logged in as root . but for some reason it didn;t not accept it saying that access denied as i'm putting the wrong password ..... anybody had faced this sort of problem ??? i type this password 1000 times a day so i couldn't have missed ...thanks guys

What pcmcia card are you trying to get working? Where are the instructions you using from?
