Kubuntu Torrent breaking

Hi

I'm using KDE on Debian and have been trying to download the Kubuntu DVD iso using KTorrent.

I thought I had successfully done this some time ago but when I tried to burn the image using k3B I found k3B didn't recognise the image as an iso at all.

So I have tried, repeatedly, to successfully download Kubuntu 7.10 without success. The download finishes, gets moved to updloads tab and then I run a data integrity check which reports, repeatedly, that about 5% of the chunks are corrupted and then restarts the download to repair the problem.

I'm giving up on getting Kubuntu right now. I don't know too much about torrenting except that we can give and receive chunks from those that wish to share out there. When it comes to this consistent and repeatable failure I'm left wondering what is happening with no clue how to fix it.

Can anyone shed any light on this problem?

Regards

L.

Torrents can be a little temperamental - your firewall setting can get in the way, and there seems to be an increasing tendency for ISPs to deliberately break torrent traffic coming through them.

Perhaps you should consider using the direct download?

You might also consider using the Ubuntu Shipit service to get a CD sent to you in the post (for free).
