kpowersave - odd behavior

I had kpowersave on my system. Whenever I would boot up the computer (SuSE 10.0) I would get a message like:
"powersave daemon is not running... (etc)"

When I check to see if it is running, the message says that it is already running.

This message does not happen when my networked Windows XP computer is on.

Until I find an answer to that, I have removed kpowersave from my system. I'm running a desktop anyway, do I really need the kpowersave package?

I have two servers at the lab which at the moment are causeing me a real headache. One is Suse 9.3 the other 10.0. I have removed Kpowersave due to them freezeing if they are left in KDE and logged in. So to be safe I have stopped the Kpowersave deamon.
On my laptop I also get the same error message taht you are getting
Quote:

"powersave daemon is not running... (etc)"
I'm interested because not all too long ago I noticed a Kpowersave update via YaST. I'm not sure but I think that they maybe a bug in the deamon.
