Konqueror

Hi
Whenever I log on, Konqueror seems to be opening - about 45 seconds - and then it closes down. It's just started to do this. It only appears on the panel. I'm using SuSE 7.3 and KDE.
Help. It's irritating me.

Have you got the 'save settings on exit' option enabled when you log out? If so, try disabling it and logging off.

If this doesn't work, open your home directory and move into the hidden directory .kde, look for the Autostart subdirectory. Open this and check to see if konqueror is in there. If so, delete it (it works very much like the 'startup' folder in Windows' start-menu).

Can't find an Autostart subdirectory in .kde. Turned off restore but it's all still happening. I remember that I this happened to me once before after I'd been fiddling around in Blackbox / Windowmaker / XFCE etc and then, when I returned to my beloved KDE, it started happening. Coincidence?

OK, in your home directory (~), check for the file .xinitrc
Normally this is run when you type startx (i.e. you booted to a text prompt). If you're booting to a graphical login, it shouldn't be running, but I'd still check for it in anycase.

If it is there, look for a line that either has konqueror something, or something similar. Or, post it here. :D
