Kids want Netflix on Linux

Does anyone have any method, using Linux, to watch movies online from Netflix?

The only way I know of is to install a virtual machine of XP and then run it from in there. Netflix is using the same crap ABC.com uses which doesn't have any linux player.

EDIT: My wife and I finally just bought a Roku player because it was better (and I was hoping to some day be able to hack it to be a Mythfrontend - though no luck so far).

Just download movie torrents.

If Netflix doesn't want to bring the feature to Linux, then we'll just have to find alternatives.

If enough people do this, maybe Netflix and Hollywood will feel more compelled to do whatever needs to be done for Linux.

Wonder why some smart person didn't do the same as photoshop CS on ubuntu for this deal.

Copy registry in wine.

Actually, I think that'll just give them ammo for excuses...

That is to say, it'll give more people an excuse not to use GNU/Linux. ("It's used to pirate stuff!")

Actually, www.abc.com has changed. I just watched episodes of Fast Forward on their site.
I works for me in either the Firefox or Chromium browsers.

Netflix player uses Silverlight. Which is made by a little company called Microsoft.
not sure if that figures into the lack of Linux support or not...

has at least something to do with it as it was a long time before Mac got support and that only for the Intel Macs running 10.5 + and ONLY with safari browser, not FF or Chrome.

i canceled my netflix account as a result and told them why. no native linux support and no proper Mac support means no money for you from me.
