Question Keyboard Type Speed?

ok i am in redhat 8.0 on a toshiba laptop, and for some reason the keys on the keyboard are ultra sensitive and just breathing on them creates doubled letters. as in typing "dog" fast would come out as "doogg". i've figured a way to fix this in gnome by using the handicap accessabitlity and enabling the keyboard bounce so the keyboard doesn't recognize keystrokes that occur within 50ms of the stroke prior. my only question is i have to go and turn this on every time i reboot, is there any way to enable this accessabitliy option at startup? or is there a better fix. as you can imagine this little glitch is quite annoying as everything takes twice as long as it should to type!!

thanks,
Drew

If you know the command to set this you could add it to your rc.local script to load at boot time.

Maybe the command "kbdrate" will help you. Good luck.

Could you post your /etc/X11/XF86Config file. I had the same problem a long time ago and the fix is to comment or uncomment a line in that file. I'm pretty sure that you have to uncomment the following line:

Option "XkbDisable"

If that line is commented out in your XF86Config file uncomment it and restart X.
