Question Keyboard bashing!!!

I cant seem to be able to type inverted commas on my mandrake 10 box(").
In screem , Quanta plus, kwrite, and tons of others when i type inverted commas it comes out looking really small, but the worst part is that the editors doesn't recognise this as inverted commas.
I can however copy inverted commas from other documents and paste . then it recognises it .

how weird !!

have anyone ever come across something lke this.

Might I ask what an "inverted comma" is? You mean an apostrophe?

guess he means quotation marks...

maybe your keyboard is not configured properly... ie using a different key map to the one thats actually for your keyboard??? dont know the technical way to put that... in other words... is the keyboard language configuration the same as the language the keyboard is meant for???

hope u understand what i mean...

OOps, yes I meant quotation marks, duh

I chose English(South Africa) in the installation, maybe that is the problem, or is it maybe something else?

well i guess you could try changing the language to English U.S. ... the S.A. setting probably has some Afrikaans influence in it... btw.. inverted commas is correct... where we come from... i was born in zambia
