Key code?

I just got hold of a Dell Inspiron 4100 laptop and have successfully installed RH 7.3 on it.

I am having one slight problem -- the machine has a "Fn" key on the UK keyboard which I want to use to map key combinations to shortcuts for "volume up", "volume down", etc in KDE.

However, xev doesn't recognise the Fn key. So, I was wondering how I go about finding out what keycode this key uses?

Thanks.

That key is usually used to access other functions of the keyboard, you can check if a scancode is passed to the system with this comand, outside X:

# showkey --scancode

If something appear ther will be possible to configure it ...
