kernel version

I'm running FC4 kernel ver - 2.6.12-1.1456_FC4smp. I want to install gfs which requires several kernel mods. Right now, rpms w/ these mods are available, but for a different kernel version, e.g. GFS-kernel-smp-2.6.11.8. What are my options? Back track my current kernel to 2.6.11.8? Thanks.

That's one fairly simple option, yes. Just download the appropriate RPMs, including the kernel RPM itself, and your grub.conf file should be updated accordingly. When you boot, select that kernel, and you'll be good to go.
