kernel stack error installing...

I'm trying to put linux on an old computer of mine (well not old, but one thats not being used...).

Anyway, both slackware and debian give me a kernel stack error while trying to install (in the beginning of install..)

It's a p4 board with p4 that I patched together with odd parts...the wierd thing is I got debian to install on it once but I messed the install up so decided to go back to slackware which I'm far more familiar with. Well then slackware started giving me a kernel stack error while installing, and then debian started doing it too...

Any ideas? I can post the exact error if needed of course, but my computer is lying on my bed now with parts hanging out so I don't have access to the message ATM...

Heh, SORRY FOR THE POST, figured out my problem

as it turns out, the problem was an old ass NIC card, it was messing up all my pci slots too (graphics was on the fritz)

funny thing is it had never been opened, anyway i think we can all learn a good lesson from this: NIC cards circa 1985 should NOT be used on P4 motherboards... =)
