Kernel source missing??

Can someone point me in the right direction as to how go about finding the kernel source file. In RedHat and many other Distros, the kernel source file was in /usr/src. Evidentally, the folks at CentOS changed that tradition, and now I have no idea where they put it. I am using CentOS 4.1 kernel version 2.6.9-11.EL. Anybody have any ideas where it might be?

I don't think it's installed by default (at least it isn't on any of my distros). This thread on the CentOS forums describes how to install it.

right, you need to install the kernel source packages.

yum -i kernel-source
yum -i kernel-smp-source (if your using more then one cpu)
yum -i kernel-headers

I don't recall if that was the right syntax. I switch between redhat and centos at work, so I end up using yum and up2date. none the less "man yum". Look for the option to show all available packages |grep kernel.

but, yeah the will end up in /usr/src
