Kernel patching


I have kernel 2.4.7 and want to ubgrade to 2.4.18. i downloaded the path-2.4.18 file.

Now how do i apply the patch?

Can anyone give me the steps i should follw to do the same.

from what i beleive you just can't add the patch to a 2.4.7.. you would have to apply each individial patch from 2.4.8 thru 2.4.18.
if you want to upgrade from 2.4.7 to 2.4.18, your better off downloading the whole 2.4.18 kernel.
