Kernel panic: No init found. Try passing init= option to kernel.

Ok, I have a freshly compiled 2.6.3 kernel on Mdk 10.0 that I cant boot, because it gives me this. Ive researched it for at least an hour under the search function, but no bones. Can anyone help me figure out what the heck went wrong and how I fix it?

Do you use ext3?

Did you have it compiled into the new kernel (not as a module)?

This has been a cause of problems in the past from what I have seen.

Using ext3. Its in the kernel for sure, but as a module or not, I dont know. Its in the stock as a module if I remember right, and the stock boots fine, so I wouldnt think that would be the problem here.

All fixed. A recompile and realization of a stupid mistake later, I had init.img in /boot pointing at the wrong set of modules. All is well now :)
