Kernel Panic : How To Recover

I have dual operating systems in my laptop i.e., RHEL4 and WindowsXP.
Recently I tried to access my linux partitions through windows, later
when Iam able to access those partitions I have changed Linux filesystems(EXT3) permissions. But now Iam unable to boot in linux now.Iam getting an error saying "KERNEL PANIC" how can I recover my filesystem.

cheers

Try to boot with a rescue disk and check the filesystem.

Please do not post the same thread in more than one forum. Picking the most relevant forum and posting it once there makes it easier for other members to help you and keeps the discussion all in one place.
