I have dual operating systems in my laptop i.e., RHEL4 and WindowsXP.
Recently I tried to access my linux partitions through windows, later
when Iam able to access those partitions I have changed Linux filesystems(EXT3) permissions. But now Iam unable to boot in linux now. how can I recover my filesystem.

Boot your computer using a live CD like Knoppix and attempt to undo the changes you made to the permissions.

Without listing the changes you made it would be difficult to supply an exact solution.

I made the permissions read only from windows. I have tried to recover through RHEL4 bootable cd. But that doesn't solve my problem.

could you pls help me some other way.
