kernel opts

I compiled the linux kernel . Everything runs fine but a small thing which toubles me. The earlier kernel which i used ( i.e. Knoppix-HDinstallation's 2.6.12 SMP ) showed the message:

"EXT3-fs: mounted filesystem with ordered data mode."

But my own compiled kernel shows the message:
"EXT2-fs warning (device hda2): ext2_fill_super: mounting ext3 filesystem as ext2"

What's the problem and how to solve it.

Did you remember to include ext3 filesystem support in your kernel? It sounds like you might have only included ext2 support.

Try doing a more /usr/src/linux/.config |grep -i ext3. CONFIG_EXT3_FS should be set to Y or M. If it isn't, you'll need to reconfigure your kernel and recompile it with that option set.
