kernel messages

I have an open user terminal line that received the following messages:

The machine is an Asus X53Z laptop about two years old running Debian 6 connected to an Ipstar satellite internet modem from skymesh.com.au, a USB HP Officejet 6000 printer and a USB mouse.

The Internet modem has been giving problems for a while and although I have made sure not to lodge "tickets" unnecessarily (I have complained about download speed taking 12 minutes to show a splash page and about having to reboot a number of times to get an Internet connection), Skymesh is simply not answering.

I suspect the modem is the cause of these messages.

Can anyone tell me what they mean?

Thank you for your help.

The reference to kernel, oops and /sys/devices/... seems to indicate a driver crashing. Try removing devices until the messages stop appearing and that should determine the culprit.

Thank you kbp.

The messages happened only once although the Internet modem gives a lot of troubles. The .au government has implemented a new scheme for satellite Internet to which I will be eligible in December 2013 at which time all the gear involved will be replaced.
