Can't use a compiled Kernel - ISDN adn Ethernet wont run. Tried making a kernel with modules and one with drivers compiled directly into the Kernel. I just get this funny error message during bootup, that SIO...ADDR: device not found.

What am I doing wrong?

What exactly is the error message?

If it's SIOCSIFADDR, then you need to disable Plug-n-Play in your BIOS and reboot your computer.

HTH.

Thats exactly the error message. I need to try your solution.
just so I'm gonna learn ... why doesnt it work with PNP?

Kinda works also when you turn off PNP Kernel support ...

Heck ... now I've installed my newly compiled kernel - and when lilo starts booting, it say "err=1" and something about incorrect compression format!?
