Kernel Bootdisk Problem

I've been trying to make a Linux bootdisk. I started with PocketLinux, then tried to follow the Linux Bootdisk Howto (striped-version, BASH and a kernel), then used 'make bzdisk'. I always got a problem with the disk saying "Loading......." and rebooting, or else rebooting after the LILO prompt. How can I fix this? I'm using 2.4.22, and I built it from source. I compiled my own version of BASH and tested it. It works. I can post my .config if it helps. Thanks!!
