kernel 2.6

hi,

my task is to modify the 2.6 kernel code, so that it can be compiled and run on a MIPS processor..i have the 2.4 kernel code for reference..

i started learning linux a week ago..and would like to start off the task with something relatively easy..

i will need to change routines/variables etc in the following areas:

- Scheduler
- Memory Mapping
- IRQ

etc....

i would really appreciate suggestions about where to start from ..

Thank you,
Ashlesha.

Reinventing the wheel? There's LinuxMIPS, unless you are talking about something else.

Take a look at the "Linux/MIPS Porting Guide" on the LinuxMIPS wiki I pointed to above, here.
