kernel 2.6.3 freezing (mkd 10)

i have mandrake 10 and i wan't to use the 2.6 kernel but when i try to use it after a while it just freezes somtimes its after 10min or in like 5 hours i tryed to use the mdk kernel source to rebuild the kernel and that seems to help alittle( dosn't jam up as quick)

with the 2.4.x kernel that is included seems to work good but there are a few things that i need with the 2.6 kernel

PC Specs:

amd barton 2500+
abit nf7-s
buffalo pc 3200 256 x2
seagate baracuda 120g HD

I keep hearing bad things about mandrake.

Being a user of Redhat at the moment, I do not think Ill switch.

And if I did, I would only use Debian, Slakcware, or Redhat/Fedora.
They seem to be the least troublesome.

i think i will download a non mdk kernel and see if all goes ok

sofar this is the only problem i have had in mdk 10 which is alot beter than 9.2

i was thinking about going to fadora i wish redhat was still making desktop linux :(
