kernel-2.4.21-pre4 usb modules

I'm trying to upgrade my kernel from RH8.0 -2.4.18 to 2.4.20 in hopes of getting better Blue tooth support. Problem is that I'm not very good a getting the kernel to do what I need.

Specifically I can't get the modules to compile for usb. Seems when I do make modules;make modules_install;etc I get a handful of modules but not near as many as I expect. I don't even get a directory for the usb stuff though I chose all of it as modules.

Any ideas?
