kernel's ring buffer


what is kernel's ring buffer ??

I wanna know more about linux kernel and its operating procedure..with device driver ... any documentation available ?

if i remember i think i heard the that ring buffers are just like regular ones, but when it gets to the end of it, it goes back to the beginning,, like a ring
