Kermel panic: VFS: Unable to mount root fs on 00:00


Here are the Details of what I am doing I am introducing Adaptec RAID Controller 2110S to a linux install that works so that I may establish a Mirror. Once I connect the Drive thru the backplane of the VA Linux Server to the New RAID Controller I get the follow lines of errors.

Mounting /proc filesystem
Creating block devices
VFS: Can not open root device "LABEL=/" or 00:00
Please append a correct "root=" boot option
Kermel panic: VFS: Unable to mount root fs on 00:00

I am using GRUB

Annyone help me here???

You might want to try lilo. I have run into these types of ram allocation conflicts on motherboards with integrated graphics that insist upon using the same ram address as grub wants. Lilo has no such problem. Could be your raid controller wants the same ram address as grub but grub grabs it first.
