Keep alive irc connections in Emacs 23.3 erc-tls mode?
 

I use erc for irc communication in Emacs 23.3, but my connections keep getting dropped if I remain idle for a couple hours.

Is there a way to setup a keep alive signal for irc in Emacs 23.3 erc-mode? Something like keep alive for SSH connections?
