Im running Mandrake 8.2 and Ive just installed KDE3 using the Mandrake 8.2 binaries provided at kde.org

However, Ive got some problems with the Konsole:

Whenever I run the Konsole, the panel at the bottom of the screen (sorry, not sure what its called) with 'Kicker' and other shortcuts seems to stop working. Mouseovers dont work, the panel doesnt update when I start new programs (i.e. a little tab thing doesnt appear) and I none of the shortcuts work.

When I quit the Konsole, I get an Error Message saying :
'Sorry' (at the top of the window) KDEInit could not launch 'konsole-noxft'.

Is this a bug or ahve I just installed KDE3 badly?

I would really appreciate any help or advice offered.

you'll have to change the shortcut - righ-click on the panel icon, and change:

'konsole-noxft %i %m' to 'konsole -noxft %i %m'

(notice the space before -noxft? that needs to be there, but it got left out!)

that will fix the problem for you, but to fix for all users, as root run menudrake, and fix the short-cut globally. hope this helps!
