KDE malfunctions, Apps won't run from kicker or desktop

I've recently updated my Mandrake and now when I open programs or links or anything pretty much from the star menu or the desktop. It shows the applications starting and then they just either crash or go away. I can't open important menus like configure your computer or desktop. Firefox keeps giving extension errors in the terminal and when I delete the extension folder it works but it starts all over when I restart the browser. I need help and tracking down my various problems.

I don't know about KDE problems.

For Firefox, delete your preferences and try again. They're either installed in .mozilla or .netscape, i believe.

rm -rf .mozilla* .netscape*

That should do it. Hope it helps.
