KDE & Gnome

i heard someone predict that 2004 will be the year that KDE disappears into the bin of history and that Gnome will become the only real desktop for Linux.

Why?

This is not necessary, KDE is superior.
No KDE would be very sad.

Any thoughts?

Wow.

I never heard that. Got any links or anything?

I agree it would suck. KDE is all I use and I don't care for GNOME. I guess if I were forced to use GNOME for like a week I would figure it all out

Hmm...

That's not true. KDE just released the new beta, and there has been no talk about development stopping. Where did you hear that?

Wow, don't start a KDE vs Gnome session again - there's far too many out there !

I like both, but overall I prefer Gnome - I feel more comfortable using it, not sure why

I agree wholeheartedly.

Everyone should be using windowmaker anyway .
