Hey i was wondering how to install kde 3. i tried already and it corrupted my x files. Then when i tried removing them i did on wrong ones. therefore i had to reinstall the whole os (slackware 8.0)
on the read me file it said type ./configure in the directory, however this did not work.
if someone can hep please do.
First of all I'd do it in a text mode (runlevel 3), secondly you must first compile kde-base and kde-libs, and then everything else, did I forget anything?
You also may want to NOT be root except when absolutely necessary. Then instead of rm'ing all your good files, you will only get rid of what 'user' put on there.
