kde 3.3 + alsamixer

Hey All

Quick question: is it just me or does KDE 3.3 reset the volumes of alsamixer 1.0.5 and 1.0.6 to zero? Is there a native option that can be set to avoid this?

I was thinking a workaround would be a Autostart script (in ~/.kde/Autostart) which just does an

Code:
alsactl restore
Alas that would need to be run as root, how do you make a script that'd run with root access? i somewhat though setuid can be used for this ... but i can't seem to get that to work.

aight there is a quick workaround:

run kmix, and all is well, because it re-opens everytime you start KDE, so it restores the volume ... not grand, but ok.

btw, isn't KDE 3.3 pretty.
