Kanji

Ok first of all. I can see Kanji fine in webpages, but not in files, for example i have a lot of anime and jpop music which is tagged in kanji, for some reason i cannot see these files, they don't show up at all. I'm using Mandrake 10.0 and KDE. I already asked in the mandrakeusers forum but had no luck so can anyone help me?
