Debian is easy, even always doing an "expert install" like we should.

I have good HW virtualization here. http://www.linuxquestions.org/questi...6/#post5562620
Otherwise WiFi could hit a snag with some VMs?

ok I just bricked it.

I was finally able to make the live usb (using Rufus)...did the install and now all I get is a cursor. Even if I put the usb back in and restart only change is the cursor drops down a line.

dd the iso to a usb

then reboot with the usb pluged in
VOLA!!!
it is running as a live image

there is even a option to install to drive

there two explanations
your hardware is SO old or antique
or using optimums and is in need of that driver

or
PEBCAK

I followed the instructions through Rufus. I found this site that showed an install process with ubuntu
http://www.ubuntu.com/download/deskt...ick-on-windows

but instead once I installed Rufus I kinda went from there. Found the iso on my pc and set it to go to the usb.

turned on the laptop and changed boot order for usb first

followed "most" of the install instructions...I have installed many OS's over many years...it got to network and I kinda glanced over some of it and it was asking me something...I was thinking it was asking to allow it to access the internet for updates and such, so I said no on a couple things then yes on a couple others...

The install went great after all that point.

It asked me to restart and remove the usb...i removed usb, and clicked continue (which rebooted the pc)

now all I see is the blinking cursor.

no matter what I do
