Issue buring ISO

I tried to burn an iso to disc. My result was the iso was burned to the disc instead of the disc being burned AS an iso. I tried extracting the iso to a folder and buring the contents of the folder, but the iso still didn't boot.

What software are you using to burn with? If it's adaptec or nero, just double click the iso to launch the software to burn the image. Most autodetect iso files and burn them accordingly. If this is in Linux, well, what program are you using to burn?

I should have mentioned this sooner. I'm buring slackware images, so I'm expecting the first disc to be bootable. Instead of booting from the disc, fedora core loads instead. I'm sure the boot order is set right because I have booted fine from other discs. I can burn the data, but it just doesn't want to boot from the disc.

go into the bios and change the boot order- not even giving it an option to boot of the harddrive- perhaps it takes a while to boot into it. Also, try the second iso. I know that sounds wierd, but I had to do that with my mandrake install.

Sometimes dics wont boot very well if youre using a CD-RW, especially if that disk was burned on another computer. Here is a quick list of stuff I picked up, mostly from these forums.

----To record an audio CD.
#cdrecord -v -pad speed=1 dev=0,0,0 -dao -audio -swab *.wav
---- Burns an iso:-v is verbose, dev is device.
#cdrecord -v dev=/dev/hdc filename.iso #Burns an iso straight away.
----------Burn an ISO to disk
#cdrecord -v speed=<burning speed> dev=<your device> /path/to/foo.iso
-----Burn from disk to disk
#cdrecord -v dev=<your device> speed=<burning speed> -isosize /dev/cdrom
-----ISO information
#isoinfo -i -d /dev/cdrom
----Generate an ISO from a directory.
#mkisofs -vrTJUV "Label" -o foo.iso /path/to/directory
----Generate an ISO from a CD
#dd if=/dev/cdrom of=foo.iso

So to burn my.iso..

#cdrecord -v speed=1 dev=/dev/hdc /home/user/my.iso
Good luck to ya.

I got the iso to work in the GUI by simply right-clicking and selecting "Write to Disc". However, I will try the suggestions for the command line and see if I can get it to work.

Still get a coaster. I'll just use the GUI until I figure out what I'm doing wrong. Thanks for all the help.
