I'm in the process of recompiling the 2.4.23 kernel to fit my hardward. I

My questions are:

1. I thought ISA busses are old technology and are not present in new computers. So,
what is an ISA bridge (5th item) doing in my computer?

2. Do I need kernel support for ISA Plug and Play?

Presumably it's there for those OLD things,
like serial and parallel port... and since all
other possible PnP devices seem to be
listed under PCI, and the ports mentioned
above traditionally have fixed values for
ports and IRQ's you almost certainly won't
need ISA PnP support.
