is windows extended partion free space visible to linux fdisk
All,
Suppose I use win2000 and make the following partition in 30G disk. 650MB win2000 the rest Extended Inside the extended I use win2000 Fdisk and create several logical drive with the size of 650MB each, lets assume I creat 10 650MB logical partition. There are still some unallocate space within that original Extended partition. Now I continue installing win2000 and finally complete the installation. The question is- Can I come back and use a linux distribution fdisk, and create logical drive to be used for linux installation. Are unallocated space in windows extended partition visible to linux fdisk. Thanks for the response. purplesky |
Welcome to LQ, PurpleSky.
Yep, you can do that! So long as you leave some blank space, Linux will be quite happy to install into it... and that blank space can be unpartitioned space or partitioned... it really shouldn't make much difference. Good luck. |
