is there a way to TS into linux gui?

i love how rdesktop alows me to TS over to M$ OS like win2k/win2k3 server and winXP.

is there a feture like that for *nix?

i am running RH9 and using gnome as my GUI. id love to be able to access my RH box straight to the GUI remotly so i can continue studing when im not sitting at the house.

fyi, thanks all for the great help so far. really starting to pick things up this time around and can not wait to know linux as well as i know M$ so i can drop M$ for everything except games.

X is a network transparent protocol. SSH features tunneling network data. The two combine rather pleasantly.

For instance, if I do a "ssh -X me@myhost", then I can just type "gedit" at the resulting prompt.

If you need to access your machine from an environment without an X server, you might try VNC.
