Try this for more message dump during kernel booting:

Control Center -> System Administration -> Linux Kernel -> Kernel hacking -> (enable) Kernel messages dumper

It's still experimental so hope for the best ;-)

This only dumps more messages, it doesn't make it possible to see all the messages already dumped. . .

That's true. From my note on Boot log, /var/log/messages only keep the messages that the bootup program want to log, not everything you see on bootup console.

So even if you've gone the whole 9 yards of what moses suggested, you might still miss something.

enable full boot-up messages to record exactly what is written on the screen during boot-up time
